  • Is it safe to use a remote CDM operated by a third party?

    Yes! Remote CDM only handles CDM processes such as challenge, key generation, etc. Requests to the license server are made from the client side.

    Therefore, there is no concern that server operator illegally obtain sensitive information by MITM attack.

    However, the server operator can obtain metadata such as the user's IP address, Useragent. Also please note that unofficial versions may use non-secure methods

  • I am using an old script that is incompatible with Pywidevine. Does this extension cause dependency conflicts?

    No, this extension will not cause compatibility issues because Pyodide will run Python inside the browser sandbox.

  • Why dev NOT going to implement a feature to assist with decryption and downloading?

    To avoid legal risk. Do not decrypt content using keys obtained from this extension if you don't have right.
